Liverpool FC International Academy Maryland believe that soccer truly is "The Beautiful Game". With this in mind we aim to develop every individual in the technical skills necessary to be confident, tactically intelligent players who can work as part of a progressive and successful team. Winning games is the byproduct of this development.

LFCIA-MD Western provides "Select" soccer opportunities for both boys and girls from age U11 to U18.  The select program is designed for players whose skill and development allow them to compete at various levels of play. At Western Maryland we provide a player centered approach to player development with 2 levels of play, LOCAL and COMPETITIVE in our select programs. Players are selected and placed where the coach feels will be the best fit for their development. All players receive the same standard of coaching and education from the LFC professional curriculum.

Competitive:

• Elite Development Program: EDP
• State Wide Travel
• Primarily Sundays some Saturdays
• Teams formed by Birth Year

As part of a LFCIA-MD select teams, every player will be subject to the International Academy curriculum for their development, delivered by professionally accredited coaches. The emphasis on every player’s development will be:

• Individual Ball Mastery And Manipulation

• Tactical Intelligence For Game Situations And Utilization Of Individual Skills

• Physical Strength, Endurance, Coordination And Flexibility For Healthy Young Adults

• Psychological Preparation For Both Soccer And Life Activities

Select soccer teams are formed in late May after a comprehensive evaluation process looking at performance in the previous year’s play, player opportunity events and the tryouts held. All players will be placed on teams that reflect their current abilities and where they will achieve maximum development and game time opportunities.

Liverpool FC International Academy Western Maryland accepts new teams and players into the club on an ongoing basis. Additional evaluation opportunities are also available during the winter months for both teams and individual players looking to play the "Liverpool FC Way".

Roster sizes by age band are as follows:

U11 and U12: 9v9, Rosters of no more than 16 

U13 thru U18: 11v11, Rosters of no more than 22

As part of a select team every player will receive multiple options and opportunities to develop as both soccer players and people.

On top of this, members of Liverpool International Academy have the unique opportunity to wear the exact replica kit of Liverpool FC from the English Premier League. They get to look like the world famous superstars as they push their own development.
